LaTeX résumé Follow-up

Since there was a decent amount of interest in my prior post about composing my résumé in LaTeX, I put together a "template" and an example PDF based off of my actual résumé. Here is the template and you can grab the generated PDF by clicking on the image.

If you want to generate the PDF yourself, it should be as easy as running pdflatex sample-resume.tex if you have some TeX distribution installed on whatever platform you are using. Best of luck to you if using Windows, as I have no idea how to do this there.

If you want a copy of my actual résumé and have good reason, shoot me an email and I'll get back to you.

your template is really good.
There's only one thing I added, and that's a "Last updated: <date>" line.
I used the fancyhdr package for this, it makes it really easy to put a line like that in any corner.

As a mathematician, when I first needed to do a resumé I didn't think about doing it in anything else than LaTeX. The reasons? The same you outline: version control, change contents without affecting layout and because it looks crispier. The only thing I don't agree with you is the font, but that's because I just love Computer Modern (or Latin Modern). Probably because I have gotten used to read it so much it just is "the font".

this is overkill. the example pdf is no better than the one i produce in OO w/ pdf write out. as long as a good font is used the resume will look good.

i do like how you embedded a 'mailto' into the pdf - i do that as well. i also embed a link to my website and for the telephone number i just went ahead and put a embedded link to www.google.com/voice (google recruiters would like that :))

the only issue i have is - yes - i have to do manual version control - but it's a resume not code.

anyway - glad it works for you mate.
